Fred Siemer
Fred has ridden bikes for the past 40 years and never thought that he
was riding any different than anyone else. He always thought that Evel
Knievel, Easy Rider and all the stunt riders of his early riding were different.
He never had anyone pull up beside him and tell him anything about his
riding habits. So, like lots of other riders, he taught himself, watched
what others were doing and listened to other riders talk about different
crashes and accidents that had occurred.
40 years later, still riding the same way, he thought it was the right way
to ride. The laws began to tighten, and he found himself faced with the fact
that he had to have an endorsement or risk being stopped and ticketed for no
license in addition to whatever infraction
he'd been stopped for.
Once Fred had decided to take the course, he contacted JMST and signed up. John Donlon was his RiderCoach for the Basic Rider Course (BRC). He asked John what it takes to become a RiderCoach, and John filled him in on the requirements for the Florida Rider Coach Apprentice Program, which included a lot of hours kicking cones to set up range exercises. Although it was a lot of long days and the training was hard (as was breaking bad habits), he made it through the RiderCoach training program. He's now a RiderCoach, and loves coaching others, and helping them to ride with more confidence and safety on the highway.
Fred currently rides a 2007 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy. As Fred says... "who says an old biker can't learn some new tricks?"
