JMST Rider's Weekly

     Sept 2006

Brad Leith, entrepreneur and motorcycle rider, is building a very luxury resort dedicated to motorcycle riders. Instead of riding your motorcycle, and checking in to a nameless hotel somewhere, he wants to build a (and some 20 more) resort where you can stay one or more nights in style.

The resort, named Vintages, is dedicated to bikers ! Located in Datil, New Mexico, USA some 7500 feet high on 200 acres, it is surrounded by National Forest. The resort offers 360° views of the mountains.

Vintages will offer a variety of services to its guests and members; extended-stay rental casitas, private micro-locations, a world class spa, travel and touring services, motorcycle rentals (both new and vintages units), vintage wines, cigar humidors, fine cuisine, concierge services, high-tech communication capabilities, picnic areas, sunrise and sunset viewing patios, training and events arena, an 800 seat amphitheatre for outdoor concerts, a race track for vintage motorcycles and carts as well as a museum; all designed to architecturally blend with the region’s natural scenic beauty.

Alcohol enters the bloodstream quickly. Unlike most foods and beverages, it does not need to be digested. Within minutes of being consumed, alcohol reaches the brain and begins to slow down and impair mental and physical bodily functions.

A can of beer, a glass of wine, and a shot of liquor all contain about the same amount of alcohol. Your body is able to process one drink per hour. If you have more than one drink in an hour, you are on your way to becoming intoxicated. To estimate the amount of alcohol in your system, use this formula:

Drinks consumed – hours since the first drink = drinks left in your system.

The only way to sober up is to wait. Food and beverages merely slow the absorption of alcohol. If you plan to ride, limit your intake to one drink per hour and wait at least one hour before riding.
